CCSS Writing 6 - 9

Biomes Resources

The Biome resource list above was complied specifically to provide differentiated resources to the Grade 5 students who have varied reading abilities. The classroom teacher and the library media specialist determined that there was a shortage of research materials for students reading at the lower lexile levels. The magazines and books with lexiles levels between 790 and 830 were acquired to close the gap. The most recent acquisitions had publications dates of 2007. These materials were purchased this fall specifically to offer materials with lower lexile levels to students who aren't reading on grade level.
